The abbreviation for Medium Density Fiberboard [MDF]. After the fiber is separated and extracted from wood and resin (adhesive) is applied to it, MDF is formed through heat-pressurizing the mixture into wide boards with density of 400~800kg/㎥. Fiber distribution is uniform and the resulting tissue is tight. It has no orientation (grain), so the strength difference between length and width is less than 10%. It does not have knots and their attendant corrosiveness. It has excellent surface and side processibility, including warping, bounding, molding and painting.
